Which one would be your choice for the hunt you've always wanted? I'm from Ontario and have never been to either, this spring I will be going on a harvest from Alberta to New Mexico and back again. I'll be in Alberta around the start of November with a pocket full of money and no better chance for the hunt of a life time. I'm very open to suggestions and any recommendations anyone has. Or even a place to start my own search.

Cheers, Justin

Hi Justin!

I live in Alberta and think both provinces offer great hunting. It all depends what you want to hunt, plus you have to hunt with at least a resident that will hold the proper permit. Myself along with my son and family enjoy the wily whitetail. From Grand Prairie to Cold Lake, Alberta, it is excellent whitetail country. Southern Alberta has excellent mule deer and antelope. These two animals are on a draw. Good luck and let me know if you need any particular information.

really depends on what your interests are.

if you are talking a guided hunt, i would say either bump it up to october and go on a goat/elk hunt in BC.

Well i know for a fact I wont be done work till the end of october or early november depending on the season and harvest.

As far as what I want to hunt I'm not really sure, I can shoot all the white tails and black bears I want at home. I would love to go for a muile or an elk but was unsure of the tag situation.

As I said I'm very open to suggestions, as far as the style of hunt is up in the air as well. I plan on treating myself to a new Cooper soon as I'm done as well so as long as I can harvest something with that I'll be happy.

And I would imagine that I would have to go for a guided hunt just because I dont know anyone that hunts in either province and have never been to either before.

Both elk and mule deer are open in Alberta in November and yes, if you don't have a hunter host then an outfitter is your only option. No need to draw a tag if you book with an outfitter either. www.apos.ab.ca
