Alberta Pokerrally 2017

What TXS said!!!

Agreed! I used my .308 hunting rifle with a 3-9 scope-no exposed turrets. Just held for everything. Know your basic drop data for your ammo, understand your reticle, and you get 5 rounds to hit 3 targets...the closest 1 or 2 targets should be "gimme's" on each stage for an average hunting rifle.

Having attended a few of these, Steve and the crew puts on a great day. Don't worry about how much money you have in your gun, or what others will think, come and shoot. The guys that I've seen attend, including myself are more than happy to let you run a stage with their gun. Even assist with the dope for new shooters who may not be used to certain scopes. This is a great time to come out, meet fellow shooters and have fun. Double booked this year so I can't make it, but it won't be long before I'm back up that way.
Everyone is pretty friendly at this shoot, if you see something interesting, ask the guy about it, likely he'll be happy to tell you about it, and probably let you run a few rounds through it.
Safe shooting all and enjoy the awesome BBQ afterwards!

Oh and for the question above; my rig was a tuned Remington 700 in 308 with a NF 5.5x22 on it, and I ran a 338lapua improved for the real long shot... didn't make any friends when it broke the stand... if Steve and the guys allow me back one day šŸ˜‰ I'll just run the 308. It's plenty of gun for the shoot.

Purchased a cssa membership today and a spot for me and a friend looking forward to my first outing other than the gopher patch by myself, hope to have a new rig in 6.5 creedmoor set if not I have a 243 that I have had good luck with.

Your best bet would be to meet with the group at the campground, as we normally travel to the site together. Can't recall meeting time, but its usually no later than 7am before leaving. Coming from Rocky you'll want to give yourself at least an hour to get there, if not a little more.

Don't be late, its to much fun to miss. Highly recommend camping there if you are able, its half the fun.

The registration is closed for the shoot and we will be leaving the campsite at 7 am to be at stn 1 and range briefed with rounds sent by 8 am . We have added another stn to the shoot which should eliminate the back up at stn 1 . We're estimating that the last shooter will be done by 4 pm . It's gonna be a long day so please be prepared for the scorching heat we have had in the past or conversely the monsoon rain we encountered last year .

Just want to confirm the round count...6 stages at 5 rounds each; no more than 30 rounds required? I got that right? Thanks, Mitch.

Headed out tomorrow afternoon. Looks like we'll only have the heat to endure this year. Looking forward to another fun and successful shoot. See you all out there, and good luck.
