Alberta restricted transfer

Alberta CFO Approvals

So after a brief conversation with her later, it’s estimated 4-6 weeks right now in Alberta compared to 24/48 hours we are accustomed to.

I had 10 days and 12 days for two June 8 purchases in southern Alberta. Did you include your gunclub membership info? Omitting that will stall registration.

Bought one from AB dealer June 5. Have two more from dealers in late June. Was able to complete phone calls from private transfer last Monday, no approval yet on any of them

I got through after four weeks, three dropped calls then a thirty minute wait for a real person, then supposedly transferred to the Alberta CFO which looped me back to the CFC, after another twenty minutes my call was dropped. It is starting to feel like a comedy act, my purchase was from a reputable dealer who told me phoning wouldn’t help, he was right on the money.

Same story here, reputable retailer coming up on 4 week mark. Had the reference number minutes after purchasing but so far no email from the CFO.

I did manage to get through last week to check but was told could be another 4-6 weeks.

This is a NS to AB sale.

This is a lack of competence and total abuse of power by the federal crown. Only a tiny fraction of the money generate through taxes and fees by the firearms community goes back into this transfer system. There is absolutely no reason to have a random "call in" system where someone who has been trying for days or weeks to get through and then is beat out by the lucky guy who just happened to get through on their first try. At the very least there needs to be a system of first come first serve with a call back option rather than being on indefinite hold and then dropped. Or better yet, an online system where you put in the buyer/seller and product information and then automatically get in the que based on the date and time entered. Not railing on the people who work there, just pissed at the lack of tools and innovation the government gives them to work with.

it would be encouraging to know if any transfer for a purchase after like june 7 has been approved yet? hoping they are on summer holidays and maybe that's part of the hold up because it seems like nobody since the first week of june has had a transfer go through. i have some from june 13, 16 and 27 and nothing, would be nice to take them to the range before fall. hope we get them soon!
