Alberta restricted transfer

I phoned the Alberta CFO, the lady I got was very nice as well but she did not seem willing to do any approvals, essentially just told me I'd have to wait...maybe too many people using this "trick" lol.

She did tell me they were working on June 4th transfers and probably had over 20,000 pending!

My earliest transfer was initiated June 14th (#5935###) so I guess I will just have to be patient.
 
My panic buy was June 10th. I had to call the AB CFO on July 19th about an email issue, and asked about the status of the transfer approval. She put me on hold for minute to check, and when she came back she told me that she approved it while I waited on the phone. Judging by this thread I count myself very lucky.
Pistol arrived yesterday, curious to see when the registration arrives.
 
It sounds like people with early June transfers are getting bumped further down the wait que by people who are calling into the CFO and getting them to complete their transfers. That's not exactly a fair system.

That's why I wait 6-7 weeks and only then call.. was able to get through today and got disconnected just right after I was able to tell my ref number to the lady who picked up my call. Kudos and many thanks to her, she completed my transfer a few minutes later and I got the email notification even without me being on the line anymore.
 
Not true. The transfers are completed for the province where the buyer resides. Their workload is far too great to be assisting another jurisdiction.

That’s what a dealer told me. When I asked for a transfer reference number. That they were asked not to give out numbers because they are busy with helping Ontario with transfers. Might be bs
 
Can someone correct me if I’m wrong on the layout of the current situation of events.

1-purchase restricted
2- wait 4-5 weeks for a email from cfo of successful transfer
3- contact dealer with transfer notice
4- done deal?

pretty much, I was on week 7 and was able to contact the CFP agents through CFO extension to get it approved. Sent the transfer notice to dealer and dealer sent back tracking number.
 
Been 2 months now with no reply. Tried phoning today but couldn't get through. What a mess. Comforting to know you could probably get a black market pistol in less than an hour in TO...
