Alberta restricted transfer

I tried 33 times to get through this afternoon. 1 hang up and 2 drops with system error. My buddy got through while I was on hold and he was connected with the most excellent lady in the Alberta CFO. She allowed me to be patched into the call to finalize my transfers. She also helped with my buddies cousin. Today was a good day.

Maybe people should be trying on their cell phone, everyone else's cell phone they know, and their land lines...

I just had a call back from the CFC this morning about a restricted transfer that was initiated to a buyer in BC (Which was initiated on August 31st, and approved on September 23rd). She was getting back to me about my request for a SATT and she was also going to attempt to approve a transfer from an Edmonton dealer that was initiated on August 24th. The reference # was 6008###X for the August purchase.

I’m betting your call was from the Alberta CFO and not the CFC. The CFC doesn’t approve transfers that I’m aware of.

Update on my little list.

I had some down time at work today, so I played the telephone game. 23 calls to 9026 total. The first 22 were disconnected automatically. The 23rd call got through and had a 26 minute hold time but I did talk to a super nice lady. I inquired about one of my newest transfers and she told me she would put me on hold to see if she could approve it. After 10 minutes she came back on the line and told me she approved the one I asked about, plus one random older one I was waiting on. I made sure to flood her with appreciation and a big thank you. My personal chart is below and is updated. Just realized on my August 1st purchase it took Tenda 5 weeks to initiate the transfer.

Watched my wife endure an over 3 month wait to have her G48 transfer approved, early June to mid September. I purchased a restricted handgun from a retailer on the 30th of August, called the CFO today, and had it approved and emailed to myself as well as the retailer after a 30 minute wait in the queue. Thank you AB call line!

It's a PITA but, if you don't want to wait an inordinate amount of time, call the CFO line ext 9026. I placed around 20 calls that either didn't make it into the hold queue (majority) or were dropped after 40+ minutes on hold but I was able to get through eventually. Best of luck to everyone. Transfer #6020###.

I called the CFC to initiate a transfer today with the buyer standing by to be conferenced into the call. After taking my info and starting the transfer, the CFC would not allow the buyer onto the call saying she was not allowed.
I have done this two times before without issue. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds like a lazy worker. Transfer unit is in mirimachi, all the AB ladies I've talked to have been great

I’ve done 8 transfers and only one snarky agent said nope. All the others said sure thing. A few did say I could only make one call to get the other on the line though.

The funny thing is when you call 9026 you're not actually getting someone in AB. You're routed to Mirimachi where they are answering AB calls. That's the reason why AB is looking to hire a bunch of CFO staff. They want it all here so they have control.

I have been declined twice this week after spending hours to get through on the 9026 extension.

First time I was told that I would have to wait my turn and that the person at the other end of the line would not let me queue jump to approve my transfers. Second time I was told that the person I was speaking with only did non-restricted transfers and said she would transfer my call to the person doing restricted transfers. Not sure if she did it deliberately but she dumped my call instead of putting me through to someone else.

Does anyone know of gun stores in AB that are initiating transfers for private sales. I thought I read somewhere there are stores that are willing to do this for a fee.
Im looking for which stores and how much they are charging. thanks

Better off calling the NS offices using the textnow app at 6am, you'll get through quickly and the transfer will be faster. My last private sale transfer took 1 week, and it was started after about 10 business transfers I started before that. The business transfers are taking months.

Does anyone know what the wait time is currently for Alberta cfo I ordered a handgun in June from RDSC and they said that it would be added to the pile for processing from cfo

???

The whole point of this thread is to track transfer applications and approvals so that we can all see how long the wait is. If the 258 answers before your post don't provide what you want to know, I don't know what anyone can add to please you?
