hello fellow hunters. its been probably four years since I've been out hunting. purchased my general whitetail tag and I am not sure if this tag is good only for an antlered whitetail or can this deer be anterless as well? I've read through the regulations for somewhere that explicitly states what I can and cannot shoot but was unable to find the info that I'm looking for. is it zone specific? hopefully someone can shed light on this question of mine. thanks muchly.
Andrew

A general tag is good for either. Good luck out there.

Just so no one gets in trouble, it's only good for either antlerless or antlered if there are open seasons for both. Many WMUs require a draw for antlerless whitetail, or the season is different than it is for antlered.

It's good for either antlered or antlerless. Just make sure to check what's open in the WMU you'll be in. Also remember that there needs to be 4" or more antler to be considered antlered.

Ya, gotta read'em a few times over to get it sorted. Well worth it though; lot's miss opportunities because they don't read through the regs book enough. I still carry a copy with me when htg, about once every three or four years I come across something I'm not certain about; nice to be able to confirm.

(like wether wolf season is active or not)

Well I got back late last night. Didn't see any whitetail bucks. Two groups of three does, one group we found behind some scrub about 35 yards it would have been an easy shot
Saw two moose both young bulls. Was a fun trip out anyways hopefully will head out again once the rut really picks up.

you can say that again lol...
Was bummed out when we found that out...
But what's a guy to do ? We only hunt one zone

well I went with the wording printed in the guid that I was issued with my tags.

Tags 1 and 2 were valid so I used them.

unfortunately this year the Muley buck was draw only.

oh well I have over 100 Lb of fresh deer in the freezer.

I'll be doing a few weekend hunts now to fill my general whitetail tag and general muley tag, with any luck.
