Alberta Wolf

A nice Alberta wolf. A co-worker passed this along to me; one of his buddies shot it (I think in Swan Hills area).

Probably a 100-150 lb dog... kinda hard to be sure, but it's pretty decent size.

Is he a 5' 6" / 160lb man, or a 6' 200lb man ? Big wolf either way, atleast 100 lb'er...

I just need to find some time and get out predator hunting. Last year the wolves were pretty high in numbers near the farm.

Why does everyone doubt these pictures? Its obvious they have never seen a wolf before. Maybe they are just jealous. Nice wolf. That one looks a little smaller than the one my girlfriend shot near Barshead a couple of years ago.

Can't comment on the quality of the OP's photo, but the size isn't out to lunch.

FWIW, here are some pics from a friend's and my 2005 wolf hunt near Caroline, AB:

three coyotes next to a male, a female and another male wolf, (L to R).

If you hold one up in a bear-hug, they're big.

Sorry dude...IMO, your co-worker sent you a photo-shopped image. zoom in and look at the pixalization around the wolf's outline (really noticeable by it's rear paws)...also, zoom in on the dudes left hand and arm...all wrong...unless his left arm in 1 foot longer than his right and has a plastic hand. Guys left leg is also outta whack with the basics of human physiology and center of gravity. Angles are all wrong...impossible to hold something that heavy comparing upper and lower body postures.

Plus...and I guess the obvious one, the rear legs, front legs and head of the wolf should be all be "floppy" and hanging vertical if it was dead..not in the trotting position...rotate the photo 90 deg counterclockwise and you will see what I mean.

A solid C+ for whomever made the photo though...decent enough effort.

You may be knowledgable with computers, but not so with anatomy. Ever heard of rigor mortis? How about frozen limbs?
I say the pic is genuine, nice wolf.
