Rimfire magazines have no capacity restrictions.
Non restricted rimfire have no restrictions but I'm pretty sure there is if it's a restricted rimfire, plus it isn't a pistol so I think it would be 5 rounds instead of 10. I'm thinking of the S&W M&P 22.
I'm trying to remember how many the mags held for my AR conversion that replaced the BCG with the 22LR insert. Now I'm not sure any more.
If they built a model that was different enough from an AR to be non restricted like the Mossberg then a 17 semi-auto would be awesome. I would personally never pay more than $200-$300 for a restricted rimfire though. Especially since 17 isn't cheap enough to be wasting bricks of ammo making holes in paper, I would have to be able to take it out and shoot grouse and gophers with it to justify the cost.
Doesn't matter much, I'm interested in the 338 not the 17. Would definitely have to be imported as non restricted for me to consider spending the money though.
