For those of you shooting it. Just went out and shot dads, with the supplied reduced hammer spring, we had lots of light primer strikes. (11/50) We were just using factory Fiocchi rounds. Do they have hard primers? Anybody have good luck with the light spring? What were you using for ammo? It did shoot accurately though when it worked and felt great.

Was that the Rusty Woods spring kit? Just out of curiosity, were you shooting the gun in double or single action?
There are two 9mm Alfa's that came into our club recently that I know of and I haven't heard of any problems (granted....a very small sample)

Are you using the moon clips ? I ask this because I read it can be used with or without moonclips, but when the rounds are loaded without ,they seem "sloppy in the chambers.
I just got one with the full length cylinder from Rustywood ,along with the spring kit ,but alas ,I have not been able to get to the range due to working out of town.
There are some fellows here that have these in 9mm and will probably be able to shed some light on the issue.
Overall ,I am very pleased with the fit and finish of my revolver ,can hardly wait to get out ,but probably not until My
......but more out of town work ,means more money for revolvers and pistols

Rusty wood spring. Light strikes in single or double action. With or without moon clips same result. It's a 6" long cylinder model. We really like the gun, the trigger has a fair bit of creep but is ok. The wood grip, we are going to sand down the top as it is to tall and is a safety issue since you need to pull the hammer all the way until it contacts the grip for single action. If you get lazy cocking it the hammer won't stay back. It looks to be a very good shooter however, the finish is good on it except for the wood grip.
I take it you bought the aftermarket wood/Walnut grips and replaced the stock rubber ?I was thinking of getting the Walnut in stipple grips myself when they come in stock.

Have you cleaned and oiled the action with something suitable for the winter temperatures you have in Saskatchewan? If it's oiled with the wrong stuff and it got thick in the cold it might easily slow down the hammer enough to do this. There's no doubt that the RWT spring is going to remove the reserve hammer speed and make it more critical to things like cold thickened oil. Maybe try lubing the innards with something thinner and less of it for now. And while you're in there use one or both of the adjustment washers supplied with the spring to bump up the preload pressure at least for winter.
My ammo uses CCI primers and my own AP does fine with them. And from what I've read CCI are not the softest primers. That status belongs to Federal.

well I just bought one at the lgs. I put 50 rds of factory 115 grn ammo win white box no probs Now I will try my reloads It's the short barrel I love my 9mm and 9 revolver was a must have I really like the 9mm revolver It shoots nice For the money I think it's a great gun
Oil is not the problem, but I totally forgot about the washers!!!
Thanks. We only tried Fiocchi as we did not have much time and it was way too windy for our test reloads. (my Shadow lights them up no problem.) I have a brick of Federal primers to use as well as CCI for our reloads. (Have 40 test loads ready with CCI'S now )
I don't have a tool for measuring the trigger pull, might just put the heavy back in for now.
On a side note, who else sells the moon clips besides RW???

Very smooth DA, and crisp SA with a tad creep.
The ammo used was Blazer, Federal, and UMC....all 115g.
Been 100 percent reliable so far.
I enjoy using no clips because the casings drop out on their own or the odd one only needs a palm tap.
At the range, this pistol seems to impress people when I tell them how much it costs after they comment on how well it's built and shoots.
I also have the .22lr in 4.5"......excellent as well.

I have one, with the lighter spring kit, and have not had any issues with it, though I haven't shot it in the colder weather because my range isn't plowed in the winter. Was using mostly Wolf reloaded ammo (the stuff SFRC sells), with the odd bit of CCI Blazer. It's the long cylinder, 4.5" barrel.
