But I don't compare my compact and quick handling Alfa 9mm 4.5 inch barrel to the heavier and bulkier GP100 or 686. IMO, a wheelgunner should have both, not either.[/QUOTE]
I was going for the Alfa stainless in 9mm and ready to press the button when I found a dealer in Montreal who had them in stock.
I went and ask to see the Alfa.
To my surprise, it is a very very nice revolver , tight and very well finished. (I owned and carried a few S&W or Python to compare).
My problem with the revolver : very small grip for my large paws; I handled the 6"" and 4,5"; holding them with a shooting stance grip, my middle finger was badly rubbing the trigger guard.
Also, no choice of grips to increase "the grip" of the revolver; very nice choice of OEM wood grips but in the same size.
I ended up buying a GP-100 from a gentleman on EE.
To sum it up, the difference of price between a new Alfa and an almost new Ruger is not significant enough not to go with the Ruger.
