Pretty sure you can shoot 38 spl from any 357

I am too, the 38 sp being an underpowered round versus the 357. However every gun manufacturer who has 357 listed has the /38sp after, and the Alfa guys don't. They also have specific 38sp revolvers too.

You can fire .38 from a .357, but not .357 from a .38 because the .38 cylinder is shorter than the .357. I never had one but my dad had 3, Colt .38, Ruger .357, and a S&W .357. When we were little, we could only shoot .38 from the Ruger and S&W, and I remember him telling us never try to put .357 in the .38 because the .357 is longer than the .38 cylinder. Dad didn't mention any thing about the pressure being way more in a .357, but I figure he felt it was a moot point since it won't fit anyway. Either that, or he figured because I was only a 12 year old girl, I wouldn't understand. LOL.

if compare to S&W in the 357 - 6 in do you think it is a good deal to buy one of these revolver ?

The price is very interesting.

Do you know the exact bore diameter for the .357 ? And would a 9mm cylinder fit the .357 ?

Ruger Blackhawk Convertible .357 comes with 9mm cylinder. I was thinking of getting it, but saw many bad reviews. Accuracy suffered with the 9mm. You can read these...

Is SFRC - The Ammosource going to be the one with supporting the warranty if we have a problem ?

P.S. I received today my first Box of .50 BMG form SFRC.

If you reload you might consider using some appropriate powder to get the reduced performance you want out of a 38, or reduced cost. Of course these questions on 9 mm and 38 tend to come from people anticipating using the cheaper bulk ammo. The advantage to shooting full length cartridges in the 357 is that they are the correct length for the revolver bullet jump wise, and the cylinder stays cleaner.

Thanks kschneider, I've come across that option before but I'm not interested in a single action.

My interest in the alfa comes as an alternative to the Manurhin MR73 which retails for around $3000 and is as you can imagine quite expensive. It's renowned in France for its accuracy and quality and unforgettably it's use by the GIGN and other elite police response teams. It also has an interesting bore diameter of .354.

So I'll ask again since it seems like my question was missed. What is the actual bore diameter for the Alfa revolver?
