Greetings and salutations!

Was wondering if anyone had any luck with red dots sold on Aliexpress or similar marketplace?
There must be some decent products out there at a nominal price...

Share you experiences and maybe an advise for a handgun red dot sight (weekend gun range only :shotgun:)

Thanks!
Dennis

Not going to get too many to admit they bought a scope from Ali E...LOL

I did back 2019, wasn't expecting much Discovery red dot 1X25 $35us.....also picked up a few lasers too!
Stuck them on my Umarex Steel Force CO2 Blowback BB Rifle.
It was fine.
Now I have it on my GSG 16...again works fine.
Also picked up a couple Hunting Optics 4x32
Got one on my 10/22 TD and the other on my Ruger PCC TD.
Both hold '0' and don't have any problems.

Haven't tried any for a pistol though...

I have never tried it, but my neighbor has been very excited about a "Leupold" hunting scope he got from a similar site. He doesn't have much to compare it to so I don't take his claims of quality very seriously, but it hasn't fallen apart.

Earlier today I was reading a thread on a different forum about the US Optics TS-12 being produced in the same factory as two Chinese brands that I found on Aliexpress (for 1/3 the price of the USO). Other than the reticle and logo they sure look identical and people that tried both said the glass was the same, etc, but some people had issues with the Chinese brands. It sounds like USO basically rebranded the Chinese scopes but drastically increased quality control.

Based on that I wouldn't be surprised if you could find something nearly identical to a common red dot. You just might lose the QC lottery and you effectively don't have a warranty (even if they say it has a warranty, it doesn't mean much).
