All .17HMR Ammunition Made In the Same Plant?

I came across this quote at 17hmr. net:

CCI, Federal, Winchester, Remington and Hornady all loaded here at CCI in Lewiston, Idaho with a V-max bullet are identical, with the exception of tip color. Manufactured on the same equip, to the same ballistic specs, using the same components other than color of the tip of the bullets. Obviously the shellcase 'head stamp' and packaging would be different on the various products.

A quick Google search shows the same thing. Is this still true today? Is everything the same or do certain manufacturers hand pick from the lot?

I don't doubt it at all.
Many, many, many moons ago, my grandparents lived in a house where a automotive oil filter plant bordered their back yard property line.
During the hot summers, when we would go to visit them, the plant would have all the exit doors opened to let in fresh air.
My brother and I use to venture over to the plant and look in the doors and watch what was going on inside.
They have an overhead conveying system where all the oil filters would come down a line primer grey and split off into 4 directions.
From there, they would hit the paint section and go to packaging.
ALL THE SAME oil filters would come out of the paint section either orange or green or yellow or white and be packaged in different manufactures boxes.
Food for thought next time you're willing to pay $5 more expecting a better filter, when all you're paying extra for is the oil filter name....

I dont think I agree with this because winchester ammo for my savage is junk. Inaccurate, split cases, ftf, fte. All that could go wrong happens with only winchester super x and supreme. Hornady, and cci are great. Not a problem with hornady or cci.Never tried remington or federals though.

They are possibly all made in the same plant,but they aren't identical .Weighing Hornady,Federal, and the Winchester Supreme loads using the 17gr V-MAX, the Winchesters weigh almost 3 grains more than the other two.

The Winchester Supreme 17gr loads work great in my 17HMR. Below are two five shot groups fired at 50 yards.
