All geared up (mostly) for 3-gun!

Take everything here with a grain of salt! For every opinion stated here there are multiple ones that are opposing. The best advice is to try before you buy and see what you like. All the best equipment in the world cannot compare to practice, practice, practice!

Very good advice . Many try IPSC and only stay a short time....try first , if you like the sport , then buy....and PRACTICE !

If you practice and practice and practice and get good, there is no other rifle that comes close to the ar 15 platform. This is why most of the 3 gun nation pro series shooters shoot with, which means its more customizable for accuracy, recoil, and reliability. Alot of guys do run and guns and arent very good so an ar15 isnt really going to change their game much, however if you end up liking the sport you will end up with one. A new barrel, trigger, adjustable gas block , quality optic and low mass bcg will really step your game up. Id also like to add that i dont just own an ar 15 , i have many rifles handguns and shotguns. Im not a palmetto state saleman, i dont even own one, but have heard great things from friends and have shot them. I have nothing to gain from this advise, i just wish someone had told me what im telling you before i got into 3 gun. My favorite rifle is my socom scout m1a, i sometimes use it in heavy metal division and sometimes i slap on an aimpoint on it, but my ar 15 ( heavily modified )runs circles around it.
