I got rid of my Russian collection. Only kept my clean light refurb 49, cabelas laminate about 4 years ago, and an old import Chinease. I think I might have to rebuy some so can take part in this thread....

IZZY 53-54 non-refub all matching, The 53 came from Weimajack with a riveted mag non frankenpin and the 54 is from IZH import with a rod weld to the follower both are still in cosmoline

My Russian "D" letter SKS - purchased from Weimajack last year; unissued, unrefurbed and still unfired - by me at least. Picked it up as a shooter, wanted a "nice" example but it is so nice I've been unable to bring myself to use it LOL. Laminate stock, all matching incl. mag (non-franken pinned). Bluing is about as good as it can get, and just a few minor dings on the stock.

Explain? The chinese ones made you change your mind? There are some on sale right now, but other posters say to never buy a chinese SKS online, as you can get a pretty crappy one...

The Chinese ones available now are mostly in pretty rough shape from what I’ve seen.
You used to be able to buy really nice all matching, unissued ones like this one I purchased from cgn dealer Wiemajack several years ago.

'54 Tula. Weimajack's one and only personal SKS. From the 2008 IZH import. Russian military issued. Non-refurbished. All-matching. pin-welded follower. She's a beauty and a great shooter! Keeper!

The middle one is a '51 Tula. Non-refurbished. All-matching. Minter than mint. Cleanly riveted magazine. Sold to CGN collector.

The top one is a '52 Tula light refurb that I had some fun with (Arma-coated and sanded/oiled stock). Sold to CGN member for use as a truck gun.
