All my 22s suck in cold weather. Calling the biathlon crowd

Its not easy to shoot in cold weather you have to get used to it. Doesn't matter if its RF or CF its just tougher.

This was done at -16C with my 1712 and Centre X. I would go outside with my mags already loaded and keep them in my pockets until I needed them. That group average is about .100" larger than I would get in good weather.

3rd pic show how cold the gun would get being outside long enough to shot 8 groups.

Only right at zero where I shoot now. My T1X and CCISV is shooting better than it has before. I’ll see what happens when it actually gets cold.

I find everything I shoot when shivering struggles to produce tight groups. Just make sure it isn't actually you... cold fingers ruins sensitivity in skin. I usually light a fire beside me when it's cold... comfortable shooting is happier shooting which results in relaxed experience.

I shoot all winter in middle manitoba, I bring my lil buddy heater.my best ever 200 yard cf 223 group was in minus 20,and 6 o'clock wind.i used to leave the 22lr outside all winter with a thin coat of oil on it just like on the trap line in my younger years, now in last few years I bring my range gun inside because the ones now cost me more lol.the accuracy was really good from the cold gun which never came inside.the only problems came from greasy blazers and certain extraction systems, they gummed up bad.i could see maybe the cz I have with the match barrel and ely match might be a winter type problem, because the lube gets scraped and gets thick.but will see next week.
