I think these are a lot better looking than ak’s anyway. The longer receiver and no clunky selector switch makes for a sleeker more attractive look. Kind of like the difference between a tall lithesome Scandinavian blond or a thick short South American ### bomb. Both will serve their purpose just fine though.
Looks are subjective but the Type 81 is definitely more accurate, less muzzle jump, less recoil, last round bolt open, it is objectively a better rifle than a standard AK.

267** here as well. No shipping email yet, although they have printed a shipping label (CP informs me via email any time there is registered info regarding my address) and ran the license check. Should be in the mail soon i'm assuming.
Id disagree only with the accuracy standpoint. At best they are on par with the sloppiest of AKs. Unlike the Type 81, lots of companys have taken the time to produce AKs that are decently accurate. Lots of sub 2 moa AKs out there, and virtually no one with any credibility has displayed consistent Type 81 accuracy much under 3 moa.
Im super curious what ratio of fixed to folders were ordered by TI, was there any mention of that? I was expecting the folders to sell out within a couple days of the fixed selling out. I totally understand the privacy of not releasing the actual number of rifles ordered, but there's gotta be at least 2x as many folders.
I watched many AK accuracy videos. Where did you find that sub 2 moa one? Also keep in mind that the ammo plays an important role and the selection here in Canada is somewhat limited, especially since Barnaul is not available anymore.
I noticed something. These rifles have the sight block moved down the barrel...but the sight block is also different. There's no bayonet mount on this rifle, therefore, not military. These are civy rifles, made for a civy western market, right? Do I win the chicken dinner?
Mostly Rob Ski's content. He seems to be one of the few Combloc shooters that actually knows what hes doing and talking about. VEPRS, Saigas, Zastava,Two River Arms. Some models built to a much higher standard then a mass produced Type 81. Not implying a Type 81 built to those same standards couldnt replicate or even surpass that. I believe it could due to its gas system alone. However at this time no such thing exists, but yet in the AK world they do exist.
We got premium brands still like Hornady SST, PPU, stellior and Bellot etc. My CSA VZ 58 loved SST and would group it into sub 2 MOA easily. Of course most agree that platforms in a league of its own....
Is it just me or does anyone else think that underfolder is just damn ###y? Initially I thought that I wanted a fixed stock, but seeing those pics confirms I made the right decision.
