All-New: Type 81M

Norinco, as we know, is a Communist Chinese export company. Not long ago, they sold commercial versions of SKS's to North America and they were sh1t. I'm not saying these 81m's are sh1t, but I do believe them to be commercial variants of military issue guns.

Which SKS variation are the 3hit ones?

The Chinese sks rifles, built for and sold on the American market, are regarded as quality rifles. I’ve not heard otherwise, except for your post.

The type 81 rifles available in Canada have to be commercial otherwise they would be prohibited.

That doesn't mean that the type 81’s brought into Canada aren’t made on the same Type 81 tooling, with type 81 materials, that the military variants are made on.

These most recent variants seem to feature a number of practical improvements that might be cost prohibitive for large scale military adoption.

As an early adopter of the Type 81, buying and selling them to get the latest models has resulted in my collection becoming of increasing quality. The LMG variants are by most accounts superb. I expect these recent versions to be of similar high quality.

My earliest type 81 is still in my possession as I consider it unsalable for its obvious barrel to receiver misalignment, it does however spit out 7.62 pills without so much as a single hickup.

commercial versions of SKS's to North America?

do you mean to Canada? Cause they are banned in States.

I don't see any commercial version of SKS.

There is no comercial sks in China. They produced huge a mount of SKS during 60-70s. Lots of them are still in storage.
Why they reproduce commerical sks for Canada? Just take some out from storage. Aren't that be easier?

A 5.56 T81 would be absolutely incredible. Keep it simple, as in just make it a standard T81 as we love but chambered in 5.56 and it would be fantastic. When companies make a lot of drastic changes, the accessories industry always has to play catch up, so keeping the footprint identical to the usual T81 is what I dream of; basically just reproduce that T81 in 5.56 intended for export to the US and it would be the golden gat

One word:

YES!

you still believe in the military piggy back story? lol.
For the two major batches of rifles (blonde and red SE), yes. That explains why the quality and finish varies so much, and the long gap between the two batches.
For the LMG, the line either stayed open for way longer or they have tons of LMG barrels, as both the SR and M are based on the LMG design, so they can actually afford to make dedicated commerical models out of them.
It's no different from what the Chinese did with the SKS and AK sporters. It's either built from geniune contract overruns, or made from the ground up as a commercial rifle if they saw demand.

Well, no. There are military surplus rifles, and then there are Norinco shleps. They are not the same, not by a long shot. I'm not saying these 81's are the latter, I'm just saying we've seen the latter before.
And the TI rifles are neither. They are bespoke semiauto receivers so it's not the former, and they aren't made or marketed by Norinco so it's not the latter.

I still have my original blonde folder. I will never part with it!
It's got a slight cant to the right but runs like a champ....
And the best part of that rifle is the serial # is the year I was born it's like it was meant to be mine!

Anybody ?

But underfolder, of course

Trudeau would never allow it - a rifle designed to dispense skittles as fast as possible? WAAAAY to assault style.

He will allow you eat beef style burger, made from Quebec crickets.

He also will allow you to use plastic straw style paper straws.

All this done under the banner of Trudeau’s democratic style tyranny.

HAHA true.. sounds dangerous.. too bad, I guess I will have to settle for this model

On a wishlist of things that could actually be possible I'd put a bullpup type 81 aka type 97 in 7.62x39 at the top of the list. A shorty t81 would be cool but man the r&d required to alter the entire gas system would not help the fact that as a restricted firearm it couldnt hope to sell anywhere near as well as the standard nr batches.
