All-New: Type 81M

What are the chances of getting a defective rifle? How does the warranty process work? Does TI cover return shipping costs if the item is defective?

I’m pretty sure my rifle has a slight bend when I look through the receiver to look into the bore, it goes a tad to the right.
I’ve had the rifle for a few days and already threw the box out because I received it the day before recycling/garbage day.
Will TI take the rifle without original box. It’s the fixed edition which seems to have the issues. Does anyone else have this issue as well if so can someone post some pictures to verify I’m not seeing things. Only picture I seen was that FB post.

Take the top cover off, bolt and carrier out, and look from the muzzle to the hole in the back trunion.

How much is it off?

Do you have a long straight edge you can run along the side of the receiver and extend out parallel to the barrel?

Blame Reddit for unable to change a 10 years old username.

'tism came in various flavors, guns or else. What's next, you'll tell me you are offended by the fact that I'm into other things like motor racing and drone strikes, like a true liberal would?

Tell you what. The WA State (Just google it) Police rifle which is same as Type 81M.

It is called WA Type 2 Rifle. I don't know if they buy it from China or manufactured by themself.

WA type 1 rifle is just a copy of type 81 regular version.

Very litter infor you can find online for this but I used to work for one of the warlords there. Long story lol.

BTW why all the URL image sites don't support the type of this image?

Can some one post the image directly?

Thanks for the cool picture! See if this one embeds.
The front sight and gas block are different from the T81M. The front sight block looks like an AK one with an open top (Chinese T56 have a full hood) and the gas block lacks the selector valve on the T81. They probably built it from the parts they have lying around. Apart from that and their distinct furniture, everything else looks like a regular T81.

I’d speculate the chances of getting a defective rifle are slightly higher than any other rifle.

I’ve only seen one from that batch that’s severely defective.

I’m not really keeping track but this is what I’ve heard so far:

A couple of miss aligned barrels (likely still in spec).

One cracked upper handguard

One missing mag release, with a good gouge on the side of the receiver.

A couple twisted folding stocks, one with minor damage to the wood as a result.

So maybe two warrantee claims in the whole bunch so far.

I’ve done that, field stripped it, held it up , looked down , put it in a vise , run a cleaning rod through to see if id get a little resistance if it’s not a clean shot through. When I get home from work I’ll see if I can get a good picture, maybe remove the stock and get a good look from the rear trunnion. My guess 1-3 MM of deviation.

I even asked my girlfriend if she could see it and she did as well, but probably should have asked before telling her what I saw.

Guns is on its way back and a replacement unit will be on its way

My t81 fixed from the second batch is about 2mm off when I look down the barrel to the hole in the center of the rear trunion. I can see about half of the hole. Doesn’t sound like much but it is VERY noticeable. I wouldn’t have to ask anyone if it’s bent - IT LOOKS BENT.

Good news is that it runs like a GD sewing machine. So meh!
