All-New: Type 81M

Has TI given any ideas on how many T81s may be left in stock? I would love to pick one up, but I am currently waiting for my PAL to come in...

I’ve re-read this a half dozen times and gone back to the photo a couple times, I’m convinced you don’t understand what MOA is or at very least in the context of that target. The bullseye has nothing to do with anything we saw in that photo but explain the reference for the shooters point of aim and point of impact, there isn’t a single grouping there over 2”, at 30M even that’s only about 6.25MOA roughly.

sorry friend i don't think you shoot a gun at all.
a group is what the outcome is of shooting reputedly while aiming at the same spot.
i assume he was aiming at the bull eye and not just picking a line in the middle of nowhere and shooting at that.
the bulls eye has nothing to do with a group but the bulls eye happens to be the spot, a reference, point that you can go back to over and over.

0 updates since.. twiddling my thumbs

Many of us are at 2 weeks from order placed to receipt of the order, so go on that as a timeline. If you live closer to the Alberta shipping point, then it might be quicker. Don't know how many orders they have left to fill, but I'm sure new orders have probably slowed.

Got mine as soon as it was dropped off at the PO... around 6:30 pm. Lucky it was a privately run depot or I would have to wait another day.

exactly and as well and by what this guy is saying only the target on the right at 30 meters if aiming at the bulls eye the hits should have been above the bulls eye because i assume your setting is at 100m which would have put the bullets above the bulls eye because there is a bit of a bullet drop out to 100m. the target on the left you can say the hits in red are correct. something is funny here.

Third time saying this, wasnt aiming at just the bulls. Also, if you zero a 7.62x39 rifle at 100, you will be low at 30. If you dont understand this concept, you have no business insulting anyones knowledge of shooting lol. Rifles were zeroed for different ranges.

lol this is getting funnier and funnier. actually the way it works is if you zero your rifle around 20 or so yards it will hit 0 around 100 if your sight is like 1.5 inches high because that's the bullet drop and the sight is above the barrel. Not like 3 inches below, some random spot you kept picking lol just drop it man. you're making the rifle look bad. sure at 30 meters you were just picking a line and that was your aiming point.

Serious question though because I’ve given up with the rest, did you actually order one of these rifles or do you just come here to profess your deeply coveted and unique knowledge base?

i actually did. but i probably wont see it for more then a week, or two, i ordered the day after the emails went out. but I'm keeping it as a collector, probably wont fire it much just a few rounds, I have other rifles to beet up. so I'm hoping it is in the best condition as possible since i don't want to bother sending anything back $1400 isn't that much, but its a lot of money in this economy. I'm sure a lot of people are going into debt just to get one, it would be disappointing to get a "within spec rifle"

I ordered on day 1 lol..

Just unpacked mine. Major disappointment for those who are still waiting.

Everything looks straight; barrel, folder, no nicks out of the stock. She looks flawless.

got my under folder and fixed. under folder looks really good, no issues. The fixed has a couple scuffs on the receiver and the stock is a bent/slanted. China I guess

Same ordered day one no issues whatsoever. Ignore that guy, he's spamming, his name will be red soon, not soon enough...

Yes yes i know because of wrong speak and wrong think. not allowed to think or speak what i think. i must be in lockstep and politically correct.
i must agree with the mainstream because if i think i might hurt some snowflakes feelings.

No worries..

Yeah so my fixed t81m has a banana stock ~.5cm offset and it drives me nuts. Has anyone had luck returning or getting a replacement for similar issue from TI? Hope everyone else is enjoying theirs.

First type 81 purchase, been waiting for months because I didn't want to overpay on GP. Fixed stock Order #268** ordered on March 12, received on March 25 (shipping delay, original date for delivery was March 22 end of day to BC)

Barrel looked bent to the right at first, but I noticed that the sight at the end of the barrel was secured to the far right. After realigning it to the center, the barrel visually looks straight. I'll field strip it and measure for deviation when I have time.

Is it normal for the factory to install the sight all the way to one side? In my case it was to the far right and the barrel appeared to be curved to the right.

That's how rifles are zeroed...you need to move either the front post or the rear sight left and right to zero for windage...the t81 has a fixed rear sight that only changes elevation (up down). Therefore the front sight post is moved left and right to zero for windage (left right). Congrats, your rifle is probably now way off because you screwed around with it without understanding how it works. This is what happens when people spew misinformation, people believe it. I'd recommend moving the post back as near as you can to where it was from the factory or else you will be shooting very far to the right.
