All-New: Type 81M

Thanks for the comments, all. I think I'm going to contact TI about my bent receiver. Does anyone know if they cover return shipping when honoring an exchange or refund?

Their site doesn’t say from what I found. I can tell you that they deduct between 20% and 40% for non-warranty returns. So pretty important to determine if yours is what they consider defective. If they deem it to be within spec, you would have to take a big loss to exchange it.

Edit: I forgot to mention that whether they repair, exchange or refund is up to them, not your choice, according to their policy.

I'm certainly not happy with the obvious bend along the receiver, it's very noticeable when shouldering the rifle. The bolt carrier cycles and the rifle seemingly functions without issue (although, I have yet to actually shoot it).
Just reposting because I didn't get much traction and hoping for some more insight/advice.
What would you do in my situation?

literally shoot it. If the bolt cycles fine, there won't be an issue with binding. Keep it lubed at let er yeet

So here is some more QC issues lol. 2 outta the 4 rifles I bought are missing the rust inhibitor jet black paint on the receivers but barrel assemblies have it lol.

Ones a folder and ones a fixed so it's not type specific.

Not really a bad thing as I was going to 0000 steel wool it off anyway.

TI could at least be up front about this, and frankly should have been from the start. How hard is it to say "if you ordered accessories, you are now at the back of the train"? Or they could just you know, send two packages if they can't handle the logistics of sending one out in a reasonable time frame. I don't think many guys would complain if they got an email saying "due to some logistical issues we are shipping rifle as package 1, with accessories to follow in package 2, that is delayed by approximately X days, if you would like to cancel the accessories order please contact us".

Definitely second this.

With your confirmation that you are in the same situation it's great, everyone with accessories ordered will literally have to wait until they have shipped all the rest of the simple orders before... It's really nice to spend more money to receive this type of treatment.

I am personally thinking? why did they? sell the batch all at once? did they suspect problems? Blow it all out and see what happens..

In the exact same order no. range as you.
#288XX - UF
Mar 16th - ordered
Mar 29th - processing
April 5th - rcmp notice

Nothing since. I, as some have stated, have ordered accessories so there seems to be longer wait for those with extras like mags and slings. Was hoping to at LEAST receive it by April 12th-ish but that's looking unlikely.

Identical, and same. Was hoping I’d see it by my birthday (13th) but probably won’t be much longer thereafter. Guess I’ll just suck it up and play with one of the other toys in the chest!

Order # 2848* . Ordered March 15, got shipment notice yesterday, April 9. Rifle was ordered with sling, extra mags & slant compensator.

Canada Post tracking says the shipping document was created by TI April 1st, the package was in Calgary yesterday and is scheduled for delivery by the EOD today. I’m in Ontario, so that estimated delivery date has got to be pure fantasy, but at least it is en route!

I'm in the same boat. Canada post tracking # created, but it hasn't actually shipped yet. :-/

I would like to know what date it is arriving not because I'm in a rush, but because I'd like to work from home that day, since even though I can see that shipment states "proof of age, signature required, card for pickup", it will most likely be left on the porch. :-/

Oh you lucky dog, you. Let us know when she gets in! It's definitely been a test of patience for me, haha. As someone stated above, guess I'll give the other toys some love until she gets here

Just called TI to find out about the order 28***, ordered Mar 14, RCMP transfer Mar 29. Couple of accessories included in the order. Was told that mine is in a warehouse with a thousand or so others "waiting to go out", that they are working through them as fast as they can, and that they can, and that it could be tomorrow, or in 3 days, and that's the best information that the gentleman I spoke with "really wants to give out".

So there you have it, for what it's worth. Wonder if now that I started complaining I'll get a bent one lol

It's funny how certain carriers just don't care, eh? My wife worked from home to be around for a firearm I ordered a couple months ago and they didn't ask her for ID or anything. Just handed her the box and walked away. Even though CP stated it "needed proof of age and signature" lol

Thanks for doing the dirty work, lol! Us #288XX orders thank you.

Under folder with Slant brake
Ordered March 15th 286xx
Order Processing March 26th
RCMP notification April 1st
Nothing since. I’m seriously considering canceling my order at this point. Between rolling the dice with bent receivers, reports of crappy QC and now hearing there could be another 1-1.5 week delay because I ordered a simple accessory? The polish is starting to wear off this turd and I’m losing my enthusiasm fast.
