I'm looking for a caliber that I can use for everything from a coyote to a moose. Does such a caliber exist? I presently own a .30-06 and although it's good for big game , it's too big for coyotes. I don't reload and buy all my ammunition from the store. Any suggestions ?

7mm-08 or a 6.5x55 should do it. They've got the ballistics coefficients and the sectional density to get the penetration required for big game like moose, but you can also sling light enough bullets (100-120gr varmint grenades) to make them practical for coyotes as well. Hope this helps.

I agree. The Scandinavians use the 6.5x55 for moose yearly

Nothing wrong with using the 30-06 for Yotes there available in 110. also many people use a 270 130 gr for varmints and the 150 for deer and Moose (unless you hand load then I think a 180)
