All Round Recommendation

Whatever manufacturer fits your frame the best and feels most comfortable.

As for caliber. anything in the 6.5mm and up class will work for what you want, use quality bullets.

Optics, my general rule of thumb is an approximate ,value of rifle = value of optics.
 
A Tikka T3 in 7mm Rem Mag is all that a serious hunter really needs.w:h:

Until then, I enjoy the sane recommendations of my fellow shooter and hunters here. Thank you for such a refreshing thread this morning. Restores my faith in the advise that you can get on here.

I would suggest a Savage Model 110 Predator Hunter Max 1 in 6.5x284. Top it with a Bushnell Elite scope.
 
I like 7m Rem Mag If you do not want a Magnum go with the 7m08 the only real dif. is the distance you can shoot. 7m08 you can shoot up to 300 yards 7m Rem Mag I have taken Moose out to 600 yard.
