All Sako models

Since both barrels are made in the same factory at the same time, it is hard to say.
But since Sako has the the higher standard, it could be by their firearms command the higher price...but as far as I am concerned, as good as the Tikka's are, they just aren't as nice as the Sako's. Or offer the same features. And in handling them side by side, you can immediately see and feel the difference. So, yes...they are the real deal!
And for the features that they provide, you cannot build a custom rifle with the same quality options for the same price.

Now ain't that the truth .. strange how some wanna spend big bucks on a custom ( and reloading ) when the rifle they really should have is at Cabela's
funny but true

I had a 75 hunter in 270 and have a 579 in 243 love the latter the 75 I did not like the factory wood stock one bit but sweet action.

sorta agree to the 75 model , have not seen a cool wood stock yet
The older 579 , Av and newer Bavarian wood I believe to be nicer

I got 2 Sako 85 Finnlight chambered in 300 WM and 30-06. I sold the 30-06 recently and bought a Sako S20 Hunter, 6.5 PRC. Now I regret selling the Finnlight

I have a pair of Sako rifles, A L61r in 264 win mag i bought new as a barreled action. Put an English walnut stock on it, 'tis a beauty. the other is a Vixen, 222 Rem i recently bought, it's a keeper as well.

Awesome whitetails. It would appear that you know how to use that Sako to its fullest.
I had one like that in RH - 270win. It was a solid 9# but shot really well.

Phuck the Sako's, you can purchase them any time, but not the big bucks! Congrats Marty06, those are fantastic bucks! You and I are on the same page.

Good morning guys, thanks for the nice comments. I bought the rifle (30-06) used in the mid 90's for $700.00. I was living in Laduc at the time and bought from a guy in Sherwood park. That was a lot of money for me back then still had a mortgage and two small kids. If i remember right all three deer were shot with hand loads 150 grain TTSX, they all dropped in their tracks. The last deer I shot with my rifle was in 2018, Just not seeing anything big enough.

Happy I bought this 85 from a gentlemen on gunnutz about 5 years ago now. It's an absolute laser, In .22 250 with set trigger. Probably my favorite firearm I own, Defintely carry it the most out of all my guns (coyote hunt the most)
