Well after Harvesting my first deer a button buck on thanksgiving with the bow I followed it up with 4 deer during the gun hunt filling all our groups tags. All were bucks.

I went out twice since gun to fill my additional but Once the snowfalls the deer move to their wintering grounds.

Well my friend Wes was nice enough to take me out. Him an his wife had a GREAT week of dropping 3 deer so i was pumped!

We got in stand around 3:15 and around 4pm I heard movement behind me.. I see a deer followed by two more then more and more! It seemed they were going straight rather then towards me so I was ready to use the bleat can when I heard them coming my way... I see a deer with horns and draw back and that's when the buck decided to slow down eating everything in sight...once it got into the clear I let the arrow fly! Drops on sight!

Not two minutes later turkey's came in!

Had one antler which dropped on site but meh! Freezer is FULL!! You can see the deer in the distance on the left top.

Congrats but did u really have to shoot that many? 2 or maybe 3 if something was special...that many seems a bit non conservationist minded....no offence just IMHO

Southern Ontario is infested with deer in many area's and in past years some area's have offered up to 6 additional tags per hunter, but it looks like numbers were lowered to 2 additional tags per hunter in the same area's for the 2013 season. Controlling wildlife populations is a big part of conservation as managing populations results in a healthier herd overall;)

For 2013 there was over 26,000 additional deer tags available.

Congratulations on the late season bow harvest! Very tough to sit in the cold & even tougher to make the harvest with your bow!

Way to go! Enjoy the venison.

No offence taken. Plently of deer around here as someone had said.

I hunt with four guys and every deer is split even. So really we just end up with about a deer and a half each. Less when you give some to family and friends.

1- all pepperettes
2- all sausages.
3- all cuts and ground
4- all cuts and ground
5 - pepperettes and cuts
6 - half ground and half pepperettes and sausage.

That's how it's all worked out. With the wife being a great cook it's venison almost every other day. I had to tell her to slow down as I want it to last a year.
