all the talk and chit but....

If you guys do it, please do more than 1000. It's really not much, many on this forum shoot that amount over a weekend without cleaning the gun.
It's not really a challenge at all.

Make it 5k, no cleaning, over a few days or weeks.

Im willing to do that, but nobody is rich, so would have to wait a bit tell i could save up for that many rounds at once. Not sure about the other guy, but its even more expensive for whoever is gonna shoot the 1911. I also maybe able to get the president of the club in on this, he hates glocks but loves 1911s. Will see how it goes, its just an idea that popped into my head while having a few beers, i never thought about the small details, will see what happens. I agree 1000 rounds is not much at all.

1000 rounds is nothing. Glocks would do it with ease. And it would be a pretty tightly set up 1911 to not be able to match that.

A shooting buddy that simply refuses to clean his guns until they begin to fail to function said that he had upwards of 5000 rounds down his .40S&W Glock. I strongly suspect that your test will use up around that much ammo. But certainly it'll use up a lot more than 1000 per gun. Frankly I can think of a lot of other things I'd rather do with what will be well above 2000 rounds of ammo than bury it in a backstop with no other use.

It would make far more sense for a few Glock and other handgun users to simply make a pact to shoot their guns without cleaning and log how many rounds shot over some time up to the point of stickiness and gumming up to the point of failure. That way folks can get on with their lives instead of watching an all day shootout.

Obviously this requires a little trust on all sides as their won't be anyone monitoring the logs other than the folks that own the guns. But like with most things in life what in hell will cheating prove?

Thats a good point, i would certainly do that as well.

"The Dirty Girl Dust-Up"

In one corner: Miss Daisy - She's been around for years and is tried and true. From boys in the trenches to men in the jungle hooch hut and beyond, they all have good things to say, and she has the metal to carry on allllll night.

In the other corner: Miss Lena - The new girl on the block. She wears all black and catches the guys checking her out with her bright sight. She may be a little modest keeping her internals covered up, but make no mistake, she can take the heat.

I like it :)

I think the 1911 will lose because its been proven unreliable. The Glock will win but its still a quality lacking piece of plastic.:stirthepot2::nest:
