All these M305s and M-14s but nowhere for a guy to get a walnut stock in canada...

I don't understand why it is that these Norinco and Polytech M14s/M305s are so popular here in Canada, with so many aftermarket stock options, it is next to impossible to find a walnut/wood stock for these things up here. Go down to the states and there a dime a dozen, almost any of these websites where you can buy aftermarket stocks you can also buy the walnut ones.

This should almost be a WTB post in the EE but i am interested if there is any good M-14 supplier up here that anyone knows of that can help me out

because US law says they are assault rifles and-therefore-restricts export...

So it would be against the law to pick up a stock for less than 100.00 walk it across the boarder, claim it and say its a "wood stock for an m305", it was under 100.00? Or have the rules been tightened from that 100.00 export rule?
Not saying Im going to do this, I want to know everyone elses experiance with the cross boarder thing

The Treeline home page also says:

So keep checking. They're Canadian-friendly...and they DO have the bnib M14E2 in stock
 
Brownells has Springfield wood stocks for 240 or something and there also is another company through brownells that has wood stocks for m1a
 
I ordered a USGI Walnut through Numrich Gunparts in the USA.

They took my order, took my money off my credit card, everything looked go till......... I received an email today from them informing me my order was cancelled because "they cannot export the parts for the weapon I am trying to repair".:(

Hope my 114.95 gets put back on my card.:HR:
 
Has anyone ever tried buying a stock from CMP? They have wooden stocks for $35 with metal finishings, or so they say on some of the forums on google. It sounds worth it to take a chance, I guess they are hit and miss with the quality of the wood and finish. Just throwing it out there to see what you guys think.
