All weather 358 Winchester

Funny the wide range of opinions and replys regarding the Weaver rings.

I have a few sets of Talleys here. Should have mounted them for the pics. :)

Talleys are good, but there's nothing wrong with the Weavers, other than getting the scope plumb with the older two screw style, and their provision for QD can't be overlooked. If you like a low mounted scope, and provided the height of your comb and objective are compatible, the low Weaver probably provides the lowest scope mounting of any rings I know of.

SC, don't take it too personal friend.

Myself I have very peculiar tastes. I shoot a single shot 22 caliber target pistol habitually and often a ROA too, my newest favorite shotgun is a 10 gauge BP drilling and my most recent purchase is an original AR-7.

Consider the source.

Cheers buddy.......

No worries. :)

Very nice little rifle. I built a 358 on a Tikka 55 action and just love it. For deer or smaller game the 200 gr Hornady spire shoots well. For larger game the 200 gr Barnes TSX or the 225 gr partition offer more penetration .

I do have a similar 7/08 down there somewhere. Not quite a 260, but ......... :)

That wouldn't suck either. I had an identical stainless m 77 mk11 Ruger in 308 to my 350 rem mag that I still have, thought those two covered a lot of ground. Sold the 308 to my buddy but wouldn't mind another one in 260 or there abouts.
