All weather kill-all gun?

If I didn`t pay under $1200 for my package, this is likely what I would have bought. It is a .270 from the look of the cartridge, right?
My friend just bought one with a Burris 3-9 all new for a shade over $900. I took it out with some old loads I had (140 AB' s and 58gr of H4831sc). It made perfect little triangles from 3/4-1". Sounds like a freakin' bargain to me!
These rifles are also really easy to maintain.

Na, 308 Winchester - cheapest to reload non-varmint caliber that I know of. :)

And yeah, the longer I own it, the more I like it. It does/has everything I want it to, right out of the box (after I adjusted the trigger down around 2lbs - a 30 second job).

And if, by chance, I manage to scrape it up a bit when (as I was last weekend) using it for a walking/climbing aid while traversing steep nasty alpine terrain, I won't cry nearly as hard as I would if had beat up a $5,000+ custom rig.

LH Ruger M77MII SS 30-06

My all weather kill all gun is a Ruger M77 MKII in 30-06 with a new bushnell 3200 3-9x40.

Same here, except mines a southpaw and wears a Leupold VXII 2-9x40 LRD. Other than wishin' I'd scoped it with the VXII 2-7 or VXIII 2.5-8, I wouldn't change a thing.
one of the best "foul weather" rifles I've used is my Ruger 77 MK II Stianless...

It spent almost a full year outside, getting covered in snow, rain, baked in the sun and sitting in mud, had zero maintence during that time and it never got any rust on it, except a teeny bit on the Timney trigger.

I agree. Not all SS rifles are equally weather resistant. I've owned some that rusted disconcertingly easily. Even easier than a good blued finish. FWIW

I have a TC pro hunter in 308 and I think if you are looking for a good all weather riffle, have a look at one. I was at the range the other day with my old man. It started to rain and we had to cover his savage 99 but we left mine out in the sprinkle to see what it could take. It held up well. It shot just as good wet. I have a bushnell elite 3200, so rust is not a big worry as long as i clean my pro hunter at the end of the day when i am done.

Ruger #1 Stainless in 375 H&H Mag with a Bushnell Elite with Rainguard. When the weahter is good I got to the 30-06 (lighter), but I carry the #1 when the waether turns (reason I bought it).

Boomer's got it right, mines a Mod. 70 Stainless Classic 375 22" barrel, open sights and 1.5x5 Leupold in QD mounts. Would be better in .416 but will do.

X2 for Littleboyleftie. Got me a 77mk II 30-06 in leftie stainless as well and it is a good looking rifle. Shoots very well too. Love the gray lam stock. Tough finding left hand 30-06 ammo though:)
