Allergic to monos?

On the gmx topic. One of my friends loaded them up in his 270. Shot one deer with them and promptly stopped using them because of an extremely narrow wound channel and, in his opinion, poor terminal performance. So presumably it didn't expand great or something along those lines and therefore dumped a lot of energy into the hillside behind the animal, rather than using that energy for killing. I think he went back to cup and core but I couldn't tell you which off the top of my head. I'd guess speer or Hornaday though.

Hard to beat a Berger for putting an animal down fast! :)

I have a whopping one Berger kill, so maybe it isn't the norm, but it was far from a fast quick clean kill. (moose), No shortage of carnage on the inside and lead fragments in the heart we ate for dinner. 30% weight retention on one recovered bullet that made it to the far side shoulder. 2500 fps impact, certainly enough poop

2700 ft lbs energy on impact for you guys who want to dump energy to kill quicker

I remember you posting that moose and thinking to myself that I’d rather use any other bullet at all before I use a Berger on something I’m going to eat.

The .20cal 35gr HP was hell on coyotes though went I had time to hunt em

Yeap, lung soup! :)

I more meant meat and all. Had a new in law hunt with us about 5 years ago, he came with his 30-06 boat anchor of some sort loaded up with Berger's he rolled. Long story short he shot a doe behind the shoulder and the entire front ended was pretty much garbage. Blew it all to hell on and offside. Gave him the choice to load something heavier for next year or stay home.

I agree Bergers suck on game. But look at the mileage you got from it, this must be the 9th time you got to tell that story. That's good value for money.
