Alliant Black MZ powder

Noticed on the alliant website they have black mz now. Is this the long awaited "black dot" we have been hearing about? Anyone have some yet? Any experience with it out there, hopefully it is not priced like blackhorn but with the same results!!

Thanks for this post; it's the first I've heard of it. Will have to dig around locally this fall to see if I can run across some to try out.

Reviews posted on the modern muzzle loader forum show this stuff as being more like American Pioneer Powder, then Blackhorn 209.
Photos show it looking like APP and even with a silica pack in the jar.
Price is about the same as APP.
No one who has tried it, likes it so far.

so much for my fantasy of no cleaning without the price of blackhorn!!, That being said, if i am going to clean immediately after, i will be cleaning good old black powder residue, at least I know what I am deal with there!!

I don't know: I've been really happy with Triple 7 in my ROA. American Pioneer, however, strikes me as pretty abominable after trying out some of a friend's in a couple of my guns.

I do not mind subs, just any slight advantage any have over black are more than offset by harder ignition, more corrosive and cost. Plus good ol black is just cool.
