Iv been pretty lucky I picked up a couple #s of unique. But may stash is down to a couple grains. Just wondering when you have seen any. I have noticed that IMR, Winchester and some others seem to be coming around and lasting on the shelves for a bit. Last time I saw it was 6months ago bass pro had a bit of bullseye at bass pro Calgary, and some Unique a year or more ago in Calgary. Just wondering is Alliant still MIA.

I saw a few 8lb'ers of RL-15 a few weeks back. Oh no, wait, that was a dream. Never-mind.

I'll have to check, but I don't recall even seeing any Reloader powders on lists in stores lately. Almost like the retailers have given up hope of ever getting some.

you won't see any for a year or 2.... change powders or be willing to offer $70+ per pound if you really need it.

I picked up 3 lbs of Unique 2 weeks ago at my local Bass Pro. I was shocked to see it, so I grabbed them all. Going next week because they said they may be getting more. So it is still around.

Alliant powder is still very difficult to find. There appear to be small orders getting in here and there but nothing major.

Rumour was that Alliant had a mess-up with their export license and can't export powder outside of the US. That's an old rumour though.
Someone posted an email response they got from them here on CGN and they said they have been shipping bulk orders to distributors as quickly as possible. They have no control over who the distributors sell to so if none is making it to Canada, check the distributors.

I was lucky to find someone to sell me some Blue Dot, it'll go fast though and I haven't seen any at all otherwise. Hopefully the situation gets better soon...

Doin alright.... :p

Bass Pro has been getting small but regular shipments of Alliant powders, they bring the powder in from their US stores without going through a Canadian distributor

I haven't seen RL22 on a shelf anywhere for over a year! I'm almost through my stash now and not sure where to go.

it's ways been the very best powder in my swede ... 4350 didn't touch it ... soon i'll have to start researching what else to try!

Well Canadian tire has listed the re-loader 15 on their website. Last week I was just in there messing around, and asked the sports counter if he could order it for me. (small town, and not a big sports section) he typed in the number, and said well I didn't think we could get it, but still shows up available, so he could order it in. He told me not sure how long it would take as he did not think it shows up with the regular truck. Been a week and have not heard back yet!

Alliant powders are around you just have to hunt them down and be willing to pay for shipping. I got 8 lbs of rl17 and 4 lbs of rl33 just the other day.

Rl-19 and RL-22 are hard to come by... Alliant is selling the bulk of their powder to the ammunition manufacturers... a sales rep, said they would resume producing and distributing small consumer quantities early in 2016... but I imagine that depends on what the market is doing...

The "rumour" that they "messed up" their export permits is hogwash.

And the "rumour" that they will be shipping small consumer quantities in early 2016 is also contradicted by a supposed direct email from them that someone posted here on CGN. The email that was posted claimed they've been shipping more retail powder to distributors than they ever have before in their history. Those distributors just wont ship to Canada. Most of their powder going to ammunition manufacturers is also just an internet rumour. Do ammo manufacturers buy retail packaged powder from secondary distributors? Do the distributors package the powder and they receive it in bulk?

They can't all be true. The absolute fact of the matter is no one who has posted anything really knows for sure and if what their reps tell people actually happened and wasn't made up then it looks like the reps don't even know what's going on.

Alliant powder is also difficult to find in the US so maybe the first rumour is true, or just more true, than the latter one. No one has been able to post any serious evidence to confirm what's happening. At this point the people claiming it was a secret executive order from Obama to disarm reloaders before the New World Order starts their cull are just as valid.

You'd think after three years+ of hoarding and gov't overbuying with round the clock production, etc south of the border that there just might be a let up in these type of shortages. Look at the bright side, the 22 ammo shortage is worse south of the border. Some American buddies salivate when they see the 22 ammo on shelves up here and they can't take it home. There is some justice after all. Karma's a #####. Can you imagine the ammo that will come out of the woodwork when the Republicans get back in?

I was just in Idaho and it is about the same as here for powder but snomad you are correct, there wasn't a .22 shell to be seen anywhere. Just before Oboso got elected the first time people were talking about how bad it will get for the firearm community. Remembering the Clinton fiasco with powder I thought I better stock up so I have enough for a few more years and thank goodness I did. I had no idea that it would get this bad.

I guess it's too bad so few people realize who's in office has little to do with any of it. Clinton and Obama didn't pass any laws that effected supply; people panic buying thinking they would did that.
The current shortage wasn't from Obama's election, it would have started 7-8 years ago if it was. It started after the Sandy Hook shooting in Dec 2012.
