Just received 3lbs of RE-15, new stuff new label, that was from a dealer on this sight.
Lets not forget: received 300 nos part 160gr 7mm, thought it was a pretty good deal (turns out they are SECONDS). Some people have no scruples these days!

Picked up an empty Bullseye container from the garbage at our club today. Excellent condition. May even have a few grains left in the bottom. I'll let it go for $60 plus shipping. First "I'll take it!" gets it.
Actually it started to get hard to buy powder the fall of 2008. Buy the spring of 2009 the price had gone up about 10 bucks a pound and primers were about the same per 1000. By 2011 it started to get hard again with the advent of Obama looking like he was going to get re-elected. When Sandy Hook hit it went full retard and has not changed since then. You can believe what you want but I have detailed notes of the supplies I have bought, the dates that I purchased them, quantity and price. My reloading diary goes back to the summer of 1976 when I started reloading. Without exception when a democrate is in office the supply and price change, sometimes drastically and others not so much. Numbers don't lie and clearly shine thru emotions.
Powder was $15 a pound and primers were $25 for 1000 in 2008? I find that hard to believe. I was paying $25 and $35 respectively in 2010. Now I'm paying $35 and $45 respectively in 2015 when the dollar is crap and recovering from a shortage. Hell, the current crap dollar almost makes up for the difference at the 2010 price. USD$25 is currently around CAD$31.
When I started reloading around 2010, I could buy as much of any type of powder from any manufacturer I wanted at any store I went to. Want 20lbs of Varget? It's in stock everywhere. Want 50lbs of Reloader 15? I can get 30-40lbs right now and the rest will be here in 5 days. If that was "bad" and "hard to buy" in your opinion, what's it like when it's "good"?
What emotions? I'm stating facts. What laws has Obama passed to restrict or increase the price of reloading supplies? None.
This is all being done by gun owners, to gun owners. I was commenting on how so many people blindly blame Obama for something being done to them by fellow gun owners.
I don't like Obama, but it doesn't take a genius to see what has happened is an overreaction by the shooting community, not any action any president has taken.
Prices go up and availability drops during a Democratic president. I can believe that, but the president isn't the one currently hurting gun owners; it's other gun owners.

Powder was 32.75 in 2007 went up 10 bucks to 41.50 in 2008. Primers were 30 bucks per 1000 and in 2008 they were 42.00 per thousand. I sure wish it was 76 prices again, I paid 14.00 a pound for 2400 and 17.75 per 1000 primers. The rest of your argument is correct, my notes really only mean a few suppliers that I frequent in Edmonton. Some massively over charged when stock was low and others didn't. Some supplies were easier to come by in certain areas of the country that is for sure. We are both saying the same thing from two different perspectives and didn't mean to pick a fight or get riled up, hopefully the powder will start flowing again soon.

I'm still waiting for shotgun powders to become more available. I've curbed a lot of my shotgun reloading because those powders are still somewhat difficult to find. Rifles powders seem to be coming in fairly regularly again except for Alliant.

The problem extends throughout their entire product line so while I'm sure it doesn't help it's not the cause.
