Picked up an empty Bullseye container from the garbage at our club today. Excellent condition. May even have a few grains left in the bottom. I'll let it go for $60 plus shipping. First "I'll take it!" gets it.![]()
I guess it's too bad so few people realize who's in office has little to do with any of it. Clinton and Obama didn't pass any laws that effected supply; people panic buying thinking they would did that.
The current shortage wasn't from Obama's election, it would have started 7-8 years ago if it was. It started after the Sandy Hook shooting in Dec 2012.
Powder was $15 a pound and primers were $25 for 1000 in 2008? I find that hard to believe. I was paying $25 and $35 respectively in 2010. Now I'm paying $35 and $45 respectively in 2015 when the dollar is crap and recovering from a shortage. Hell, the current crap dollar almost makes up for the difference at the 2010 price. USD$25 is currently around CAD$31.Buy the spring of 2009 the price had gone up about 10 bucks a pound and primers were about the same per 1000.
When I started reloading around 2010, I could buy as much of any type of powder from any manufacturer I wanted at any store I went to. Want 20lbs of Varget? It's in stock everywhere. Want 50lbs of Reloader 15? I can get 30-40lbs right now and the rest will be here in 5 days. If that was "bad" and "hard to buy" in your opinion, what's it like when it's "good"?Actually it started to get hard to buy powder the fall of 2008.
What emotions? I'm stating facts. What laws has Obama passed to restrict or increase the price of reloading supplies? None.Numbers don't lie and clearly shine thru emotions.
The US military has shifted to Alliant RE15 in their 308 long range sniper rounds. This could account for some of the shortages besides the hording. Have not seen any in 2.5 years.
