I'm almost finished my build. All i have to wait for is Casey to get my side bolt release in and have it installed. Took from about May til now to complete because i sourced all the parts. Shoots approximately 3/4 moa groups from the factory action/barrel with 168 gr FGMM and 168gr Hornady A-Max. Was originally a 700 SPS varmint. The action was bedded in the stock. I have a custom windage turret coming that will allow me to dial more wind before getting lost, it is like the one in the picture but in mils. I added a delrin block in the cheekpiece so everytime i clean the rifle i can remove the cheekpiece and have it set back to the same height every time. I think it is great. Probably in a year or two, i will get it rebarreled and get the action trued. Anyone that is a member with the Frontenac Rifle and Pistol Club might see this more often as i am looking into a membership there come May.
Specs:
- Leupold 8.5-25x50 ER/T M5 FFP (ebay gave a steal of a price for this scope)
- Mark 4 rings
- McMillan A5 stock
- Holland Quick Discharge Brake/ scope level
- ATRS bottom metal/ Bolt knob
- Timney Trigger
- Gunsmith's own scope base
Sorry about the pic, even with my sisters fancy expensive camera, i cannot take a good picture.

Hey Knotty

Nice Build and yes the picture could be better.

Hopefully I will get to see you and your new precision rig out at FRPC next year (I am a member there too)

Also consider going to CFB Kingston for an ORA practice (held approx monthly starting sometime in April 2012). Shoot me a PM or 556nato (he is the co-ordinator).

Congratz on your build!!

Have you ever been to Connaught Ranges? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, what type of events do the ORA have?
Another question, do you have to have a reference to become a member at FRPC. I am the first in my family to have a PAL, so i have no connections to the shooting sports.
Thanks
Kris

I was a member there for several years, and I am thinking of rejoining this spring too. I did not need a reference or a sponsor, but I did have to go through their range officer to be sure I was "safe". It is a decent club that seems active in various different comps.

Nice looking build by the way, I just recently got a new to me LR tactical style rifle built that I am having tons of fun with! Maybe I will see you there.
