almost rabbit and squrrel season here in southern ont.

My beagle is, so am I - not so much for squirrel tho. I shot my longest hare last year with my favourite old 20 gauge hinge - I will never forget the crazy lead I put on that bunny...it was running full tilt across swamp between two woodlots. And, if it wasn't for my beagle following its track, I would have passed it up for a miss. Oh yeah, blood boiling now!!!

Just got into squirrels during a really frustrating deer season last year... who knew those little bastards were actually tasty!

Can't wait for them to open!

Shows how much I know... I thought you can hunt squirrels all year long in Ontario!

Anyone got any good recipes?

Down here in Chatham kent we only get a little over a week for tree rats but I make the drive to Middlesex county for a three month season. 40 minute drive to Skunks misery woodlots from my house.. Gonna give the Ruger and the new .17hmr a workout this year.

only goes from areas 36-94

No it doesn't... grey/black (same species) and fox squirrels are game animals, regulated by seasons and limits... red squirrels are classified as furbearers and may only be taken under a licence to trap.

PS - I have my HM2's ready to go.

What about the blowgun?..... I need to see this..... hell, where do you get one / how do you make one?.... inquiring minds and all....

Shoot me a PM and I will give you a tutorial... it is not difficult... practice on a pine plank with silhouettes drawn on it... two things will immediately surprise you... the accuracy and the power...

P.S - squirrels would be a tough go with a blowgun and the bunnies I hunt are snowshoe hares/the sit and hide type... not cottontails/the scoot their azz into the brush type.

Once I get the 12 point that's been showing up on my trail cam I'm going to thin the squirrels out. You're welcome to join
