Alox is messy, want to try Pan Lube

Well, it seems the alox mess is my own fault...

I was out casting the other night (a couple nice days here finally) and when I finished I lubed some bullets using about 1/4 of the amount or lube, just enough to get a light coat and dull the shine on the lead.

I let them dry for 24 hours, cleaned my sizer die and then sized them. When that was done, I cleaned the sizer again and there was very little crud in there this time. I added a bit more lube for a final tumble and set them to dry again. 24 hours later the bullets were ready to reload, dry and not tacky at all.

Now, I have to go shooting and see if there is any leading in the barrel after these rounds are fired.

Thanks,
Cactus

All these different methods of lubing being discussed, including the Lee method, are just a very poor substitute for a sizer/lubricator. Anyone doing much cast bullet making will soon have a proper sizer/lubricator, so why spend money on a poor substitute, which will just be discarded when a proper tool is purchased?
The Lyman 450 has been around for a great many years and still does a very good job.

Bang on except I prefer the RCBS lubricator with RCBS sizing dies particularly for handgun boolits. For lube I make Felix Lube. Works great in my handgun and rifle cartridges with no leading. Go to:
