I would think a pice of 2x4 trimmed to fit would be good no need to pin it be better if thay Bring in sum 2 round mags I think it only maters for ducks and geese ?

They changed the regs sometime around 2008 so it's all hunting (2 round mag) except for big game with slugs.

haven hunted with a shotgun much and never paid attention or put any thought into it
to me it's the same as a rifle
I guess I will have to read the regs concerning shotguns if I'm going to hunt with SA15

They changed the regs sometime around 2008 so it's all hunting (2 round mag) except for big game with slugs.

Ohio used to be like this for shotguns (it was shotgun only during hunting season for deer), then they opened it up to pistol caliber rifles which brought on the sh!tshow of how do you plug a tubular magazine on a lever gun. So, in a common sense move, the regs changed so that it is illegal to hunt with more than 3 rounds loaded in any mag. Problem solved, no need to plug any mag there now.

I made a plug for one of my mags out of a piece of 1/2 inch plywood.
I made it 3 1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide and just fits inside mag spring.
The mag will now only hold 2 rounds when inserted.

Just got back from the range. I was running just Sellier & Bellot Special Sport Slugs (2 5/8 with 1 oz load).
Mags were all fixed by Wolverine and I disassembled them all, cleaned and lubed them.
Shotgun had barrel & chamber cleaned, lubed. No disassembly yet. Lots of lube could be seen though.
Shot about 75 to 100 slugs.
Had about 20% where the cartridge jammed up at 45 degrees on its way to the barrel.
Occasionally there was a failure to feed from the mag, by jogging the charging handle down a bit, the round would be picked up and fed.
Sometimes an entire mag fired every shot without any issue so I'm guessing it's not the ammo at fault here.

BTW, I also tested out a red dot, a Browning Buckmark Reflex sight (cheap but kept on working). So you don't need a $500 red dot on this gun.

Overall really pleased with the shotgun! No one really told me how much fun it is to shot! :d
Lots of people at the range came to have a look at the odd shotgun.
Thanks John for bringing these in for us.

I went with a TRS-25 on a Bushnell high riser.

The bolt handle cover (Bugout makes them) works really well. So now my fingers no longer bleed and I can rack the bolt over the top with my weak hand easily. The bolt cover screws on (there are little nuts countersunk in the cover) and I did not use glue so that the cover rotates freely on the bolt.

I did the file down on my rails and attached Magpul BUIS. With the high riser they are a lower 1/3 co-witness. I might try a medium riser.

The light is a TLR-1 LED I had lying around but eventually I'll mount a 960 lumen Fenix PD35 at 9 o'clock off the top rail.

The sling is a Vism.

I did the rail mod to mine this morning for the MBUS ,added the cocking handle cover from Bugout and an old light I wasn't using .

Heyy Wolverine! Ive watched the video's etc on the SA15. I just recently purchased one off another Gun Nut here. Used, but in brand new condition. I like it, & am going to work it through its paces & hopefully get any 'kinks' worked out. One thing is I never got any of the Chokes and choke wrench kit with it. {or a manual} any chance you guys have an extra Choke kit available? Just let me know how much etc if you happen to have an extra, Thanks!! It would be awesome to get one, to complete the gun. It did come with the screw in flash hider. Also, how can I determine if this has had the 3 inch spring installed? I was told the previous owner did the Mag spring fix. I'm going to take apart & confirm that. So far not much luck in cycling 2&3/4 00' buck through her. Im going to take 'er out again later today. Also would love to get a few extra magz. Thnx in Advance,

Johny

Johnyy, you can send me an e-mail (david@wolverinesupplies.com) and I can get you fixed up with the missing chokes etc along with some instructions on tweeking the magazines and shotgun so the feeding issues are gone.

OK, Great! Thanks allot. Appreciate that. I'll email you soon. I watched all the videos today. The magz have been clipped already. One likes to fall out though lol. I just ran some more 00' buck & it ran pretty good this time! I took it apart b4 hand, really lubed 'er up etc, also I left the bolt in the rear position for 24 hrs. prior. It ran 80%+ today compared to 40% the first time I took it out. Cheerz .. ~ Pretty Awesome {when running} Shotgun!
