Alright, new guy to ownership needs his first rifle.

You could direct him to the Marlin 981T. Its a tube fed bolt action .22 rifle that is a pretty good little firearm. My wife has one (her first rifle) and loves it to death. It comes tapped for a scope (a rimfire scope can be had for about $50.00). One time we forgot ammo for it she cursed up a blue streak from the second we realized it until we signed out of the range!
