Hello Gunnutz

I'm wondering what I can use for target shooting with my new Benelli Supernova? I had a friend throw crab apples into the air for me to shoot... it was really hard:bangHead: Eventually my friend just threw the box we used to keep the apples in, that was fun.

If anyone has suggestions for other targets please post them... this could get wierd.

Tomatoes, pill bottles, toasters, monitors, water bottles, other guns, deodorant sticks, remote controls, cd's, tv's...... those are some of the things I can see around the house.

But I guess those cost money...... hey clays would be cheaper!!!

Those big steaming dog turds that your neighbor,s pooch left in your back yard. Note I said dog turds NOT the dog.

I heard of some guys rigging a fan to act like a ZZ bird. There is no way I would be within a thousand yards of anybody with a setup like that.

Oranges, apples, tomatoes, cabbages ... in close with Full choke. (Vegetable Salad ! )
Gallon windshield washer anti freeze jugs filled with water.
Old 33, 45 & 78 rpm records.

Had great fun one afternoon shotting Ritz Crackers launched out of
an Orvis thrower with a Model 42 - 410. "Sporting Crackers"

But usually settle for 5-Stand or Sporting on Wednnesdays & Sundays !

C'mon now, are you gonna tell me you have never shot something other than clays?

I've shot plenty of things other than clays..... but after a while there isn't anymore junk to shoot. Clays are decently cheap. I usually pick up four boxes when I go down to the States. They aren't illegal to bring across the border and they cost about $8-10 per box. Cheapest I've seen.

My local gun club sells me boxes of clays for $10.
Easier than going state side, and it supports the local gun club.

Back in may me and a buddy split on a dozen boxes, we figured it would last us the summer, with the crap weather we've only used up 1 box

Wow, Last price I paid was $15.00/box, and on the American side, I bought them for $11.00 plus GST at the border, a year ago. Clays have gone up big time since then. Where are you guys paying that kind of money for clays?
Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, and any sporting goods store are around $19.00
