The bans that collect everything still left. You can see the plan in action if you look.Coming bans?
I don't follow.
I’ll vote, but will never trust a politician. The SKS is an obsolete fighting rifle designed to be used by untrained peasants. It is not accurate, it is not fancy, it is not worth the panic buying price. The gussied up tacticool versions are just pigs in makeup. However, it IS well engineered and it is capable of outliving just about anything on this planet, they’re very neat guns, but you need to be able to admit the pros and cons of a firearm. It’s far from perfect and it’s a sad fact that it’s about the best that we can do here. Vote conservative and you’ll have more alternatives to the SKS than you could possibly believe!
Thanks for this - let’s hope we get some respect as responsible, law abiding, licensed, citizens who deserve SKS alternatives. The SKS is an obsolete fighting rifle designed to be used by untrained peasants. Ruger Ranch rifle in 7.62x39 is a neat little package. The 223rem/5.56x45 version is also a good oneI see the Canadian trinity includes the SKS, but I’m wondering what would be a better alternative for the same price?

i disagree the sks will be on the coming ban. the liberals got their knuckles rapped on the G46 amendment and it wasnt on the last ban 7mar25.If the lieberals win, there will be an orgy of SKS purchasing as people try to get in before the coming bans.
Personally, I have a soft spot for original, antiquated things. Not everything needs to or should be modernized A guy I knew had this 1940s car in which he added a touch screen. I personally think it detracted from the historic look of the car on the outside. For a synthetic stock, to each their own, but for things from the 1950s, I prefer it as original as possible, unless the original wood stock has rotted or withered to the point of disintegration.I hear you on voting! Always important to have a voice.
I can’t afford much, but is having an ATI stock on the SKS worth having or stick with original recipe?
Those Timbersmith laminate stocks are pretty.I bought the basic SKS when they were dirt cheap. Aftermarket, I put Timbersmith stock on it. The smooth laminate Monte Carlo stock is geat, but was slippery. I solved that problem with grip tape. Then I attached a magwedge rail, and topped it off with a small red dot. At the time it did not break the bank to do this, and the accuracy gain was substantial. Especially with handloads (123 grain SST.) I have absolutely confidence that it will easily put down a deer down within it's effective range.
As an added bonus it looks really good, and can easily be put
back to it's original form. Though, it will cost a lot more to do this now, it's something to think about..
It wasn't, but looking at the amount of questions on it during the news conferences about the amendments being pulled, and the intense pressure from Polys - none of us should be under the illusion that somehow they missed it or that the indigenous sustenance hunting factor will allow it to stay off the ban lists forever.i disagree the sks will be on the coming ban. the liberals got their knuckles rapped on the G46 amendment and it wasnt on the last ban 7mar25.
Thank you! This makes sense to me as well- leave it be unless it needs replacement.Personally, I have a soft spot for original, antiquated things. This is why I put older weaver scopes on older rifles. A matte black scope looks like $hite on a glossy blue rifle from the 70s.Personally, I have a soft spot for original, antiquated things. I just bought a CZ 600 Alpha in 7.62x39. Great gun. The Trail would be just as good, or better.Ive been eyeing the cz trail in x39, really cute bolt action
