Aluminium mounts?

I have a Baikal IZH-18MH in 7.62x54R with an 11mm dovetail. I was thinking of putting a small scope on it, perhaps a Redfield 2.75X. I have some 11 mm on hand that would fit it but they're Hawke aluminium rings with double hex screws. Ok to use or should I order some steel mounts?

i would use them. my favourite is aluminium talley lightwieghts. i use them on everything including a lightweight 33 mag. no slippage to problems.

Yeah, go ahead and use them. Aluminum rings get badmouthed a lot, but I've used them on quite a few rifles, with very few issues. Just go easy on the torquing of the screws. - dan
