Aluminium picatinny rails???

If they make shotgun receivers out of aluminum I don't see how it wouldn't work. As long as it is secured properly and nothing rattles or hits it really hard should not have a problem.

It's more of a question of fastening. The screws must be loctited and then wrenched tight.
If the part is fixed solidly, there's no problem with aluminum, especially the high-tensile variety.

As long as its at least 6061 T6 and is mil spec type III hard anodized it will last a very long time.
If its the cheap exstruded and type 2 high gloss finish, its crap dont bother.

Anodized finished is done to aluminum and aluminum in normal circumstances won't corrode on you.

Also the Ruger 10/22 is painted, wish it was anodized.
