Aluminum ammo and PCCs

I have read a few places that either suggest never to use this type of ammo or at least not use it with pcc's. Can someone with more gun experience give me their opinion?

There is a thread on here somewhere that has aluminum case ammo with the side blown out from shooting in a PCC. I've never personally tried it as I can't stand aluminum case ammo.

In my own experience I have shot several thousand rounds of aluminum Federal 9mm out of my striker fired pistols without any issues. I also used it in my Scorpion Evo 3 before it was prohibited without any feeding or ejection issues. I purchased a large quantity a few years ago when it was quite a bit cheaper than the brass counterpart. I have no complaints and I don't reload.

The warning is specifically on the Blazer ammo box.

I've already shot about 1000 rounds of Federal aluminum ammo (115gr/1145fps) through my Ruger PCC without any problem whatsoever. The warning on the Federal box only says that it cannot be used in ported barrels or ported recoil compensators. Nothing about not using it in a PCC.

My Famae Mini SAF refused to run reliably with aluminum-cased ammo. No idea why, as it ran literally ANYTHING else with no problems.

That's a good question. I think it has nothing to do with an aluminum case. I've read that most of the so-called "FMJ" bullets nowadays, especially the Federal Champion brand, are just thinly copper plated. The bullet can sheer off a portion of such a thin plating when it passes by the ports. This residue can be thrown back onto the shooter or someone else staying nearby.

Monday I was up north shooting my Kel-tec sub2000 gen 2. I went through about 100 Blazer 124Gr alu cases without any issues, They were really good, then I loaded 115Gr and immediately felt they don't eject the same as 124Gr, third round felt like it exploded during ejection and got stuck on bolt head jamming the gun. I finished the mag and switched to brass S&B124Gr and American Eagle, they felt much better, not a single issue.

a bunch of alum cased blazer 115 though a Sub2000 and a ghm9 with no issues whatsoever to date. Including used in a PCC competition with the GHM9.
Note that both the Sub2k and the ghm9 are cleaned after each day at the range.

The Blazer says on the box not to use in carbines.

"Stiction" is a thing and why many blowback guns don't like aluminum cases. Blazer is not high quality ammunition, the copper foil they "jacket" their bullets with is so thin it can be stripped right off by ports and comps.
