Aluminum ammo and PCCs

The Blazer says on the box not to use in carbines.

Does the barrel length have anything to do with it? the GHM9 has a 4.5"barrel, which is pistol length. Maybe i just got lucky with the Sub2k though? gonna stop just not to take a chance LOL.

I assume the blow back action and the aluminium isn't as strong as brass to hold any remaining pressure.

Simple blowback operation is the issue. That's one of the reasons pistols typically eat the stuff just fine.

Yup. I called Freedom Ordnance about their manual indicating not to use aluminum cased ammo and they said it was because of the blowback action.

My wild guess would be the bolt traveling farther and earlier than normal because the aluminum doesn't not obturate and stick to the chamber the same as brass or steel.

Guess ive been lucky. I stocked up when tenda had those deals for 2000 rnds of federal aluminum cased ammo. About 1500 thru my 1911 and more than 8000 thru my jrc 9mm. No issues except not being the most accurate 115gr ammo. The only issue ive ever had was the forged brand steel case crap. My 1911 refuses it completely and my jrc gets a hangup every other mag or so. I have about 700 rnds left of aluminum cased 9mm 115gr federal champion ammo left. Im scared to shoot my ae brass stuff. Its to expensive to replace lol
