Aluminum Bullets

Any chance of the AL igniting in the barrel like magnesium from the friction ?

You are thinking of aluminum powder that is used in some pyrotechnics. The difference is that powdered aluminum has a huge surface area (surface of each tiny particle) relative to its weight and the weight of each particle is tiny, so each particle can heat up very quickly to its ignition temperature.

(solid => liquid => gas + ignition => boom)

Doesn't happen with a bullet.

I believe the blue TP projectile for the 20mm are aluminum.

The 20mm TPT projectile consists of a hollow steel body shaped and resessed to receive the nose and a tracer. The nose which is made of aluminum, is solid and keyed to the body by swaging.
