Looks like the planets finally aligned and I got all the necessary tools and dies to make my 30 caliber flat base bullets with the aluminum ULD tips, just messing around to see what the length/weigh would be and I punched out these 114 grain bullets that measure 1.040" Not sure if they will stabilize in my 17 twist barrel so I may have to bite the other bullet and order a 15 twist barrel and bump the bullet weight up to 118 or 125 grains

was hoping for a 118 grain bullet 1 inch long for the 30BR, we're going to try these as they are and see if they stabilize in a 17 twist, but I also have a 30x44 wildcat and soon to have a 30 IMSHA

What dies are you using for those? They look like the would be a good supersonic 300blk bullet.

a bit of everyone's as I have dies from a half a dozen tool and die makers, but these are getting finished and pointed in corbins ULD die with a modified flat base top punch on a hydraulic press

Curious. I though flat base was more accurate at slow speed (handgun) but were less aerodynamically efficient than boattail designs. Is the agressive (VLD?) ogive overcompensating for a flat base?

What are you trying to accomplish? What kind of shooting you doing? BR?
