need to buy a new rifle for deer season, X-Bolt hunter from Browning in .270 win or Tikka T3 hunter in .270 win.

I am planing to hunt moose in the same caliber.

Honestly, which ever one feels better in your hands...Both will be accurate...

If you haven't felt either one yet, you need to go to a shop and do that...

Either rifle will be fine

....I am not a fan of Browning anymore since they are made in Japan....who knows maybe everything nowadays is made in China. That is probably why I am so fond of older rifles.(made when craftsmen-ship was still valued).

As far as cartridge choice there is nothing wrong with .270...it is NOT my favorite Moose cartridge but to each their own. I am a bigger fan of 7mm Mags that push 160 gr to 3000+ fps.

Won't it be easier to get a Browning trigger worked on than to get a Tikka reshaped to fit your hands? But if you like its other characteristics so much, and the Tikka feels good enough, the fact that the Browning feels a bit better doesn't mean you have to choose it.

While i don't care much for either, the new Browning with wood stock is a much nicer looking and fitting gun, is nice and trim, light, etc.Don't know how it will shoot along side the Tikka, but if you like a good looking/handling gun, the Browning wins hands down.

I handled an Xbolt S/S 7mm-08 earlier this year and my sweet f*ck is it a nice rig...light as a feather and fit and finish was good too.

Plus its new and shiny :) .

look at the t3 ss laminate. it seems to me to be a lot better feeling rifle than the plasstic stocked ones. and all t3's seem to be accurate.

I personally would have no problem with either of those rifles. However, IMHO the 270 might not be your best calibre choice. Fine for deer but maybe a bit light for moose. Others will argue otherwise with good shot placement, proper bullet etc. I know I know lots of moose have been killed with a 270. Lots have also been killed with a 30-30. If I were acquiring one rifle for both deer and moose I prefer a 30.06 or maybe even a 300 WSM. Just saying....

The Browning or the Tika are both good choices it's up to which you are most comfy with. The only thing I disagree with you on is the choice of calibur. I would personally go with a 30-06 if you plan to hunt moose also.
Just my opinion I'm a reloader and I can make it do anything but stand on it's head. Give it some thought.
