Am I allowed to fire an airgun inside my own house?

Great bylaws and this must be why the OPP moved headquarters from 90 Harbour St in Toronto to Orillia. Test firing in their forensic centre would violate the bylaw, but they never got a conplaint. WTF?

If a tree falls in the forest and there is none there to hear it.... Doest it make a sound..?

Really who the f*** cares... 'Just don't put yer eye out.

x2 - Who the **** cares, its an air rifle. I used to shoot in my basement all the time. Cops aren't going to get a warrant to search your house because of the sound of compressed air, so even if by some crazy chance the cops showed up at your door there's no way they can do anything anyways.

Unless it's 500fps +++... and even then PERSONALLY I wouldn't give a sh*t... lol

Another CGNer actually showed me the Ottawa city bylaws once because I didn't believe them when they said you can't fire airguns in the city.

He was right, the anti-discharge bylaws covered airguns under and over 500 fps.

But to the bigger issue, who the f**k cares, just fire away, nobody outside is gonna hear it. Just do it, and don't advertise it.

That's gold Jerry, gold!

If you're in vanvouver the ERT (Swat) will show up throwing in a couple of flash bangs, shoot the family dog, dragging you out and throwing you down on the lawn. then ransack the house checking out your underwear...either that...or you'll shoot your eyes out.:D

mmhéhéhé, i use to shoot my lill pellets gun in my house with an homemade backstop consisting in 2 row cardboard sheets.lots of fun, me and my GF we do some competition and the winner get what he wish ....since i win quite often what do you think my wish is??? .....blbblbblllblb...i cumulated lots of points that way lololol...

In most places it would be fine - possibly some bylaws in backwards areas of the country like TO and other fear monger havens. Even then it should be ok if you use common sense - who is going to report you inside your own house? Don't put vids on youtube or pose in front of a window facing the street.

IN FACT- it's a good thing for a man to have sufficient guts to be able to take control of his own situation and say "f**k it - i ain't causing damage or risk to anyone or anything and I'm mature enough to be careful and discreet (ie shutup) about it afterwards". We need to stop being sheep quivering fearfully at every new ridiculous regulation or bylaw. Don't give in to the fear mongers and insane regulations.

Be warned. A bolt of lightning will fly out of your nearest Liberal Party member's butt and strike you dead if you do anything with your gun in the house other than cleaning. Also, you should never clean a gun near an uncovered window in case you get struck by mistake.

A chance to post in a different forum.:)

I used to shoot an Air Rifle in my house/garage all the time..but that was the 80's

Check the By-Laws.

My concern is if the person enjoying his hobby is too close to Toronto....and a window. You'll be face down with a knee on your neck in 5 minutes flat.

Keep the curtains closed.

Me and my cousin always shot our Slavia 630's in his house. GI Joe's and Barbie Dolls made great targets. I was from a hunting family and was taught gun safety, unfortunately he was not. One day when we where 12 he mentioned he was going to shoot me. Not sure what I was thinking but I ran behind a lazy boy chair and my cousin shot the chair. Pellet went through the chair and into the back of my right eye...needless to say I now purchase left hand guns instead of my natural right hand.

Moral of the story...shoot away in the house but not at chairs as you never know whats behind them:)
