I'm just curious here guys, I have an ad in the EE, 253 views in less than 2 days, but not a single PM, not even an offer....

Heres the deets, http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?915775-Savage-mark-II-FV-with-mueller-APV-and-bipod

Lets price it out,

Mueller APV, $225 plus tax and shipping from Phil at white falls, so lets say $250ish
Mark II FV, $240ish plus taxes and shipping (depending where you look), so lets say $265
Champion bipod $80 at my local WSS
Everything is LIKE NEW condition...

Thats $595, What am I asking? $400 plus $20 for shipping... which wont even cover the shipping.

Is it just one of those gotta wait for the right person kinda deals or what would you say? Is a price adjustment really nescessary?

Just looking from thoughts and opinions on this. I just cant make sense of it. lol

I am not familiar enough with those particular items to comment on prices, but you shouldnt try to gauge interest by the amount of views. I generally check out every new ad even if i have no interest in the item. Always nice to know what price guys are asking which is why i look. I imagine a lot of board members do the same.

I wouldn't be too concerned ... yet.

Note the poster below your current position .... 5 replies for 4,662 views !

As a rule of thumb, some go by ... "Used, in VG to Excellent Condition 70% of Retail"
(Taxes not part of the equation)

Although I've not sold many guns on the EE, usually a week or two of exposure will get you some response,
(or at least an indication of interest ...and ask for a BTT every Friday to get back to page 1 or 2.

Just remember the more accessories it has the narrower your customer base. Its much harder to find a buyer for something with extras as most people see some of the stuff as things they don't want or like thusly not willing to pay more for stuff they don't want. Your price sounds good but its the price of several specific items. If you sell each item seperately for the same % of price reduction it will surely move faster as buyers get just what they want without buying anything they dont but it will take more work/shipping cost. FWIW my ads haven't been getting much love but keep in mind its the beginning of the month so most will be waiting on payday mid month after paying their bills. Be patient and buyers will come.

Fair enough guys, thanks for the replies. I thought the price was fair and this is a great setup.... for me.... lol I guess others may not know how the combination would be or maybe they just have different preferences but i guess thats the way it goes sometimes.

I looked at you ad when you 1st posted it up and if i didnt have the same set up myself, i would have jumped as i thought your asking price was more than fair.I am sure it will sell.In fact thats why your post stuck out to me because at the time i thought "this guys posting Drunk because everyone knows you should ask more than you paid for it".

Post scope for $200 + shipping - will sell fast
Post rifle only for $200 + shipping - will sell fast
Post bipod for $60 shipped - will sell fast

That gives you some wiggle room on the prices and you should still get more than your asking for the package.

I'd try posting up on FAC as well... I've sold numerous things on CGN and FAC, yet the smaller things such as .22's I've had more success with on FAC.

Might be worth your while! Price seems fair to me.

Haha well thanks for all the help guys! Send me an offer for whatever you want I guess lol

But seriously. This set up is almost too good to split up. But I guess I would if I had a buyer for all three items.

Well, the deal is that right now, you're waiting for a buyer who wants the exact same set up you have. Also, unlike OOP items, people are probably cross-shopping your setup with how much it would cost them from their LGS where they also wouldn't have to pay shipping.

That's a pretty specific package with a fair asking, IMO. you just have not seen the right buyer.

If you want to start moving quicker and increase your pool of buyers, split it up.

I really think your timing sucks.
It's been a long, long, longlong winter and the sun is finally out.
I spend less time on here than previous.
Weekends usually/should spark some interest.

2 days isn't a lot of time. Your price seems in the right ballpark but just might need some time. I agree with the comments that splitting it up might get you a faster sale but it is a little more hassle to deal with 3 ppl instead of 1.

It is your gun, you set the price. having said that, Someone selling this particular model for $150 tasco scope included. Was posted on the bulletin board at the range I belong to.

Sorry for being a negative person.
