Am I getting old... Or getting taste?

Actually I agree with that. The pumps are not as easy to look at as a fine bolt action. They are a very practical rifle that does what it's supposed to do with efficiency and dependability. I find that I use bolt guns a lot more these days. On the other hand, I don't find bolt action shotguns easy on the eyes either. Go figger. :)

Lol, looks like we agree more than disagree, I am not a fan of bolt action shotguns either, and I definitely agree that a pump rifle is mechanically the better action vs. a lever, I just can't visually warm up to them.

Obviously there are those that like the pump action and those that do not. I have to admit to being part of the latter group. In shotguns and in rifles, its just not an action that appealed to me. From the "kachunk kachunk" of the;) pre hearing aid days to the "clank clank" of today, not for me. A decent quality bolt set-up is #1 for my liking, especially something along the lines of a Schultz & Larsen.

And 2nd, would be a decent quality lever gun and top of that line for me is my favorite, the Winchester model 71 deluxe.

Very nice collection, Johann.

And, I love the trademark moose you have once again lovingly incorporated!

Mr. Moose is my favorite big game animal and that's reflected by the dominant amount of Moose memorabilia in my den. That shown in the photos is a trivet that was a gift and is used to protect the table in my den from hot meals eaten while watching hockey games.

Levers are soooooo 200 yrs ago man. The pump action is so effective they used it both for shotguns and rifles. :)

Think pointy bullets, long actions and easy to scope. Granted the 336 was easy to scope but the 1800s design M94 not so much. Who carries a 30/30 these days? it's an obsolete black powder chambering on par with trying to kill deer with a sharp stick. :)

Oh come now, surely you jest. Who needs pointy bullets and scopes in a nice hardwood forest? Buckhorn sights and blunt nose thingys best those money pits.

Actually the 30-30 be a smokeless cartridge since it's inception. Seein' as more big game has been taken with this number over the past century in North America, it more than ever makes sense to keep on using it fer folks that know it's limitations.:)

That's like asking why and who drives a 60's muscle car. Sure there obsolete, but they sure are fun. Who carries a 30-30, well who hunts with a 243 or 257 when's there's 6.55x55, wait there's a 260. Hey now that sucks there's 7-08, but alas who carries that seeing as we have 7mmRM, but hey that 7mm sucks look at my 7mm stw and on and on and on. There's always better. Just like your precious with Frankenstein there. That show sucked, like them old shotty westerns, nowadays we have better lighting, props effects you name it, much better than that obsolet stuff! Yet people are drawn to them. Nostalgia maybe, but they have a purpose and There limits. And a Scope on a '94! Blasphemy! Funny all the old timers go on about the good old days, yet slag half the stuff from them. Dam you troll ya got me all worked up haha;p

So the WWG extractor, happy trigger and ghost sights are on! I noticed that after the extractor upgrade the action got stiffer to cycle... Is that normal or did I botch something up during the installation?
